IANANT NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
Purpose – According to a study conducted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and National forum of State Workforce Centers in 2015 showed that there are only 19.5% of minority nurses in the workforce in United States. Indian American Nurses Association of North Texas, being a minority nursing association, is committed to support the minority students to pursue a career in Nursing.
IANANT being a minority nursing organization, most of its members have roots in India. IANANT is committed to support nursing students to improve the quality of Nursing in India.
Mission – IANANT scholarship Fund was established in 2003 and a separate Scholarship Foundation been established in 2020 with a mission to support students who are pursuing nursing as a career and who are also of Indian origin residing in United States and India.
Scholarship Awards – IANANT awards scholarships on the basis of a comprehensive process, where academic accomplishments and financial needs of the applicants will be considered while making the decision.
CRIETERIA:
- Applicants must be accepted as a full time student at a Nursing school/college or university for the upcoming academic semester at an entry level Nursing program (Ex ADN, BSN)
- Applicant must be a Nursing student of Indian origin resides in either United States or India.
- Nursing students in the second and third year in the nursing program are ONLY eligible to apply.
- Immediate family members of Executive and Advisory board members of IANANT and NAINA are restricted from applying for this scholarship.

Amount awarded – $500 per scholarship
Number of scholarships/year 6
TIMELINE:
- Scholarship Application opens May 15th, 2024
- Application deadline June 10th, 2024
- Scholarship recipients will be notified via email by July 15, 2024
