Liffy Cherian, M.S.N., APRN, AGCNS-BC, OCN, is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Clinical
Nurse Specialist (AGCNS-BC) who works at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer
Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center, in the Bone Marrow Transplant-Hematological
Malignancies Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Christian College of
Nursing, India in 1995 and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in
2016. As a clinical nurse specialist at UT Southwestern, she has been instrumental in
implementing various safety and quality projects both for the nurses and APRN’s and has
rendered her service in various roles.
She has been an Oncology Certified Nurse since 2012. She was also awarded the prestigious
DFW Great 100 Nurses and D-Magazine Nurse Excellence Award as Educator in 2018.
She has played an active part in the Indian American Nurses Association of North Texas and has
served as the Editorial chair for both the National and local organizations the past several years.
She is also very active in her church and serves in various roles for the women’s ministry, Youth
Fellowship and Young Families group.
Mother of three, her passion is taking care of her Oncology patients. Her motto is to be the best
and to give her best in whatever she does. She also prides herself to be a lifelong learner, loves
reading, writing, gardening, and listening to songs.

Dr Mathew is well known to IANANT and NAINA as one of the leaders who spearheaded the growth on IANANT. She has served several terms of office at local and national level. She is known for her courage and compassion. Dr Mathew retired from her full time role as nurse leader, however she continues to be a mentor for many and has been pivotal in building the local professional community. Dr Mathew has published in peer reviewed journals and has been a presenter at local and national conferences.

Angel Jyothi has served IANANT office as membership chair during 2021-2022, and currently serves as secretary. Her expertise includes neonatal nursing and health care leadership. Ms. Jyothi serves as mentor and has presented posters at local and national conferences.

Dr. Susamma Abraham has been an active member of IANANT since 2008. Susamma served IANANT office as charity and fundraising chair of 2021-2022 term. She is working as a nurse practitioner in the Interventional Radiology department at the Dallas VA Medical Center. Dr. Abraham is a mentor and resource for many health professionals.
